Re: FLYING ruined Not for me--

Hi All,
Just returned from a quick but wonderful trip to the Redwoods. It was a
long driving but worth it. Some places such as this destination,
driving is the only option.
We will fly when we need via Southwest but I still don't find it fun as
it was in the past. It is what it is; a means to an end. I agree with
ML that prices could be adjusted rather than having all this add-on
charges when you go to the airport.
I would love to try train travel but it will take some persuading for DH
to try it again. We stayed overnight one year on the Canadian enroute
to Jasper National Park. I just had pins inserted in my ankle after a
major break so Hubby insisted on sleeping on the top bunk. His feet
dangling over the top. They are definitely not designed for a 6'2"
man. He hasn't forgotten that. I loved the train. He enjoyed the rest
of that trip. The Canadian is a wonderful train and the food was
superior.
Cruise ships are great from the west coast but pricey if you go for very
long. So I think if we want to head East again ( and we most definitely
do) we will have to "put up" with the airlines.
